Top 3 Must See’s of Dubai
Right in the heart of the United Arab Emirates sits Dubai – the most glamorous of the Emirates packed full of exciting and extraordinary things to do. If you get the chance to visit you would be a fool to miss the following 3 places!
BurjKhalifa
Dubai’s main aim in life is to be the biggest and best at everything it does. One of the main ways they go about this is through their architecture. The skyline is saturated with high gloss skyscrapers in all manner of weird and wonderful sizes but none as magnificent as the BurjKhalifa. Standing at 2176.5 feet tall, the BurjKhalifa is the tallest building in the world.
Famous for scenes in the latest Mission Impossible movie the BurjKhalifa towers over Dubai and is visible from miles around. However, to get the best view I highly recommend you head to The Address hotel by the newly opened Dubai Mall as they have an outdoor bar that has an interrupted view of the majestic building. The BurjKhalifa is simply breath taking and an absolute sin to miss.
The Dubai Rugby 7’s
If you are anything like me then nothing is more fun that sitting in the sun with a chilled beer watching rugby and the Dubai 7’s is the cream of the crop when it comes to this. The 7’s has made a global name of itself for being one of the most exciting sporting events of Dubai’s sporting calendar. For three days back to back men and women’s national rugby 7’s teams join forces and go head to head in a bid to be crowned 7’s champions. The atmosphere is electric and as tradition goes, the spectators are generally in fancy dress which adds to the fun of it all.
It cost’s around £30 to go which is a small price to pay for the days entertainment. The 7’s is great even if you’re not an avid sports fan so if you happen to be in Dubai around November or December time then I highly advise you take a day out of your trip to venture up to this incredible tournament.
The Race to Dubai
The Race to Dubai is the final leg of the European Golf Tour. Based out in the desert at the Jumeriah Golf Estates the Race to Dubai is one of the most famous golf tournaments in the world and not only that it’s free to be a spectator. Nowhere else in the world would you be able to attend such a prestigious sporting event without having to pay any form of entrance fee.
As well as being free, the Race to Dubai is one of the only golf tournaments in the world where you can get within an arms distance of the players as they zoom between each hole in their golf buggies. If you love to watch live sport then there’s no better way to lose an afternoon than by taking up a seat on the 9th hole at the Race to Dubai and watching all the golfing greats pass you by. An absolute Dubai must!
You will not ever be stuck for things to do in Dubai and the three things mentioned above are just scratching the surface of what Dubai has to offer! For me, Dubai should be at the top of everyone’s must visit list as it literally does have something for everyone!
