Hen do locations you might not have considered
The traditional view of a Hen party is one of a boozy night out in the pubs and clubs, but there are many other places you can go to enjoy a great time with female friends and family. Traditional destinations such as the big cities and places such as Brighton and Blackpool continue to be very popular, but there are plenty of other places to go and plenty of other things to do, so if you are planning a wedding, why not precede it with a hen night with a difference?
A touch of elegance
The boozy night out with games of pub golf may not appeal if you are taking along mothers and mothers in law. If you want something that has a touch of elegance about it you could head for a day out at one of the flower shows run by the Royal Horticultural Society. When it comes to location these are ideal as they take place both in the north and the south and it may be that you never need to go very far. Enjoy an elegant afternoon tea and watch one of the fashion shows. Alternatively head for the university cities of Oxford or Cambridge to enjoy an afternoon’s punting on the river. Different companies offer different extras – some of the punts have live music, some offer champagne while other packages include a picnic hamper.
Learn something new
A hen party is a great chance to do something a little different so why not gather together a group of active friends and learn a new skill? Circus skills are not something that is confined to the professionals – you can go along to classes and learn more. There are London and Glasgow locations for these and you can work on the trapeze, learn a few acrobatics and see how to use the aerial silks and loops. For something a bit more white knuckle why not consider white water rafting? The course used in Hertfordshire is the same course as navigated by the Olympic teams in 2012. Alternatively consider learning the dance routines made famous by some of the world’s top music starts. Workshops are on offer in the centre of London run by professional dancers and where you can enjoy a glass of champagne as you go.
Get a bit creative
Using your imagination is a great way of having fun and it may never have occurred to you to consider a zombie survival event. These take place in a variety of locations and you are given all the training and equipment you need to make sure that you and your guests reach the end of the event in one piece. These are currently taking place in Cheshire and Reading. Crafts are another option for those who want something a little more sedate. Why not have a shoe decorating party. These can be held no matter where you are and you are given all the crystals, pearls and other accessories that you need to create a beautiful pair of shoes.
However, if you are up for a laugh then why not try PubGolf? It is one of the simplest drinking games that is also one of the most fun.it is basically a pub crawl with a little extra thrown in. Each hole is the pub you visit, and par is how many gulps it takes to finish your drink. If a hole is set at par 5, then you need to be finishing your drink in 5 gulps or under. PubGolf, the fabulous drinking game that can last all night.
